Common Questions

Answers Before You Book

These are the questions homeowners ask most before they book. Weather, roof fit, HOA rules, daily use. See permanent outdoor lighting, how it works, or your area.

How does permanent lighting hold up to Phoenix summers?

The cover is sealed against sun and rain. The LEDs are rated for 50,000-plus hours. Sustained heat is what the system is built for, not an exception.

What happens to the strip in a monsoon dust storm?

The strip mounts flush and tight against the roof edge, not hanging from clips. There is far less surface for a gust to catch than loose string lights.

Can it be installed on a tile roof?

In most cases, yes. The strip mounts to the roof edge below the tile line, not on the tile itself. We confirm the fit on site at your free design consult.

What about a flat roof with a low wall and almost no edge?

Low roof walls and flat sections each need the fit checked on site. Every house is a little different across the Valley's Santa Fe and modern designs.

Is the strip visible during the day?

Rarely. It is color-matched to your stucco and sits tight against the roofline. Most visitors never notice it until the lights come on.

Will my HOA allow it in a master-planned community?

Many Valley HOAs have rules on outdoor fixtures. Anthem, DC Ranch, Verrado, Eastmark, and Power Ranch are five that do. Check your own rules first.

Does it use a lot of electricity through the summer?

No. LED lighting uses far less power than old string lights. Running your display has a small impact on your bill.

Can it be used year-round, not just for the holidays?

Yes. The same strip runs a holiday display in December, game day colors in fall, Diwali gold, Halloween orange, and warm accent light the rest of the year.

Does it sync with music?

Yes. The app includes music sync. Your display can react to music at patio parties, watch parties, or holiday gatherings.

Can I control different zones separately?

Yes. Zone control lets you run different colors on different parts of your roofline at once. Save your favorite combos as scenes for one-tap recall.

Do I need soffits for permanent lighting to be installed?

No. Permanent lighting is most often mounted under the eave. Homes without a deep eave, including low-wall roofs, get an alternative mount confirmed at your design consult.

What happens if a light on my system fails?

Reach out to Apollo and we will take a look. The system is zoned, so one small section going out does not affect the rest of your display.
